Cashews have been part of the many snacks thaw we learn to love, its sweet, buttery and salty taste are an excellent source of several vitamins and minerals. The good thing about it is they grow to almost everywhere native and subtropical climates.

Cashews belong to the family of Anacardiaceae. An order of plant species that also include mangoes and pistachios. Unlike mangoes, cashews are kidney-shaped seeds widely cultivated in places that have tropical climates. They grow in countries like India, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Kenya.

Cashews are also good at decreasing the risk of cataracts.

Cashews are a rich source of dietary fats, which absorbs fat-soluble vitamins and produce fatty acids that are essential for brain development and blood clotting, these include vitamins like, vitamin A, D, E and K. The healthy fats also include monounsaturated fats (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fats (PUFA). Fatty acids like these are good for the heart and help reduce bad cholesterol if consumed in sufficient amounts, especially in diabetics.
